Michael McCloskey

Founder, President & Chief Investment Officer

I have over 70% of my family’s net worth and 100% of our investable assets invested alongside our clients.

Michael founded GreensKeeper Asset Management in 2010 and has more than 27 years of industry experience. 

He started his career as a lawyer at Aird & Berlis LLP and became a partner four years after joining the firm.  His legal career focused on the areas of Corporate Finance and M&A.

Michael then joined Sprott Securities (now Cormark Securities) as an investment banker and partner of the firm. He participated in the management-led buyout of the firm from its founder Eric Sprott. At Cormark he led numerous IPOs, debt and equity financings, takeover bids and M&A advisory assignments. 

Michael is an Ironman finisher, an avid golfer and a voracious reader. Michael and his wife Marie France live in Lorne Park, Mississauga with their two daughters.

James McCloskey

Since inception (2011), I have had 100% of my family’s portfolio fully invested at GreensKeeper.  I believe in growing and preserving our wealth together.

James brings over 15 years of sales experience to GreensKeeper.  He is registered with the Ontario Securities Commission as a Dealing Representative having successfully completed the Canadian Securities Course in 2019.

Throughout his career James has dealt with high-net worth-clients and won multiple awards as a top Sales Representative.  He takes pride in knowing clients on a personal level in order to help them achieve their financial goals.   His integrity, strong communication skills and client-service focus are a welcome addition to the team.

James attended the University of Western Ontario and was a member of the 1994 Vanier Cup Champion football team.  He has three daughters and understands the importance of planning for the future and creating a strong legacy for our families.

Michelle Tait
Executive Assistant

I have 100% of my investment portfolio invested in the GreensKeeper Value Fund.

Michelle has over 18 years of administrative and client-service experience in the financial service and legal industries.  She joined GreensKeeper in 2017 and assists with the firm’s regulatory and client-service activities.

She graduated from Seneca College in 2005 with a degree in legal administration.

Michael Van Loon
Financial Analyst

Michael joined GreensKeeper Asset Management as an analyst in 2023 having previously completed a summer internship at the firm.

Michael is a graduate of the Ivey School of Business at Western University (HBA’23). Prior to entering business school, Michael studied Financial Modelling allowing him to build a strong foundation in quantitative finance and mathematics. He intends to continue expanding his knowledge of the finance industry as he works toward a professional designation allowing him to become a portfolio manager.

Michael has developed a tenacious work ethic from playing high-level sports throughout his life, which he intends to apply during his career in the finance industry. 

Michael likes to play golf, hockey and baseball in his spare time. He is also an avid reader and loves to learn.

Jude Campbell

Junior Financial Analyst

Jude is a student at the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University (Hons. BBA’24). Jude has experience in asset management and valuation, having worked on the buy-side of a clean energy fund in a previous internship. Jude also has experience in financial controlling, which provides him an understanding of core businesses competencies. He plans to apply these skills to the investment management industry.

Over the last two years, Jude has developed a keen interest in the natural resources sector, focusing his investment research on mining, energy and commodities. His passion has allowed him to garner a greater understanding of financial securities. 

In his free time, Jude enjoys playing golf, racquet sports and cards, as well as coaching minor hockey in Waterloo.

Amir Yazdani

Junior Financial Analyst

Amir recently graduated with an Honors in Business Administration (HBA) degree from the Ivey Business School at Western University. During his time at Ivey, he was an active member of the Ivey Sales & Trading Club and the Western Investment Club.

Amir has experience in the venture capital industry and has founded start-ups focused on hospitality tech and natural language processing (NLP) software. Additionally, he has done research on Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain technology during his time at Ivey. He is passionate about value investing and is eager to apply his statistical and financial modelling skills in the asset management industry.

In his free time, Amir enjoys reading, water rafting, playing tennis and managing his own portfolio.

Wonhee Cho

Junior Financial Analyst

Wonhee recently graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from University of New Brunswick. He achieved double honours in Finance and Economics and Certificate in Leadership Studies.

Wonhee was an active member of Student Investment Funds with experiences in research competitions such as The Governor’s Challenge and CFA Research Challenge. He is passionate about financial literacy and helping others with their investment decisions. His lifetime goal is to educate people on finance in order for them to make the better plans and decisions for their future.

Wonhee likes to play acoustic guitar, work out, and discover new songs in his free time.

Mark recently graduated with an Honors in Business Administration (HBA) degree from the Ivey Business School at Western University. During his time at Ivey, he founded and led the Ivey Private Capital club, a student run financial advisory service which grew to become one of Ivey’s premier clubs. In addition, Mark competed in various case competitions, winning the firm-wide intern case competition at CPP Investments. Mark is a recipient of the Fairfax Financial Prize in Value Investing, the Robotti & Company Advisors Prize in Value Investing, and the Stacey Muirhead Capital Management Prize in Value Investing.

Mark has professional investment experience in a wide variety of industries and asset classes, having completed internships in real estate, private equity and credit investing.

In his free time Mark enjoys mixology, painting, and reading biographies.

Sarah Verdon

Sarah is a student at the Ivey School of Business at Western University (HBA’21).  Prior to Ivey she was a STEM student enrolled in Medical Science at the University of Western Ontario.

Sarah has a passion for learning and continuously challenges herself to try new things.  Her accounting, finance, and research skills are a welcome addition to the GreensKeeper team.

Sarah also loves to take part in charity initiatives focused on physical and mental wellness including Right to Play and Generocksity London.

Chery Ma

Chery is a student at the Ivey School of Business at Western University (HBA’21). As a dual-degree candidate for Medical Sciences and Business Administration, Chery has a passion to utilize her STEM background to analyze businesses. Chery is the recipient of the Barnes Family HBA Scholarship for academic excellence and currently serves as the Co-President of the Ivey International Business Club.

Chery has a strong foundation in quantitative analysis, statistical modeling and Artificial Intelligence and is eager to apply these skills in the finance industry.

Outside of school, Chery is a RCM Grade 8 flute player and a determined runner. She enjoys learning new things and loves attending hackathons.

Kazim Naqvi

Junior Financial Analyst

Kazim recently graduated with an Honors in Business Administration (HBA) degree from the Ivey Business School at Western University (Dean’s Honor List). He was an active member of the Western Investment Club and the Ivey Economics Club.

Kazim was the recipient of the Stacey Muirhead Capital Management Award as well as the Robotti Advisors Award issued by the Ben Graham Centre for Value Investing at Ivey. The former was for exceptional contribution in his Value Investing curriculum, while the latter was for his stock recommendation which received the highest recognition by the Ivey Value Fund’s Advisory Board among all HBA and MBA sections. Kazim brings diverse experiences to GreensKeeper from his previous internships in investment banking, merchant banking and real estate.

In his free time, Kazim enjoys Jiu-Jitsu, calisthenics, European soccer, and managing his own investment portfolio.

Parker Thomlinson

Junior Financial Analyst

Parker is a student at the Ivey School of Business at Western University (HBA’21) having previously completed two years studying astrophysics.

Parker has been involved in student politics as well as Western’s Orientation Program. He currently holds positions on Western University’s Senate and Board of Governors, which provide oversight of the university’s academic, property and financial operations.

Parker’s other interests include playing tennis, juggling, travelling, and Broadway shows.
